Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Lead Service Technician to join our team. This role involves the maintenance and repair of inground swimming pools, hot tubs and related equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in pool maintenance, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to train and mentor junior technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service and Repair: Diagnose and repair issues with pool and hot tub systems, including pumps, filters, heaters, automation systems and electrical components.
- Inspection: Inspect equipment and systems to identify problems, consult resources, and perform preventative maintenance as needed.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with customers about the work being performed, offering advice on maintenance and addressing any questions.
- Inventory: Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and cleaning supplies, reporting needs to the Service Manager.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Documentation: Document all service visits, including work performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Emerging Trends: Stay updated on the latest industry trends and techniques through ongoing training.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; prior experience in the pool service industry is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional pool service experience.
- Certifications: PHTA certifications of CMS, CST, CSP, CHTT or CPO preferred but not required.
- Drivers License: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various equipment.
- Tools: Proficiency in using mechanical hand tools and power tools.
- Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Take the Initiative: Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and be part of a team focused on service excellence.
Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and swimming pool repair.
- Ability to read and follow repair manuals and instructions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and communication skills, both written and oral.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to perform tasks that require walking, bending, crouching, and climbing.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders and work in awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
